Integrating with ConnectWise PSA

Hello! Follow the steps below to create an integration between ConnectWise and Backup Radar.

The integration syncs your ConnectWise companies to Backup Radar. When configured for ticketing, Backup Radar can create a ConnectWise ticket when a backup requires action and automatically close the ticket when the backup reports a successful result again.

This process creates a dedicated ConnectWise security role with the permissions Backup Radar needs, assigns the role to an API member, and connects the API member to Backup Radar.

Who can use this feature?
• Administrator users.
• Standard users (who have been granted access).

What you’ll need:

  • Access to ConnectWise Manage with permission to create a security role and API member.

  • Access to a Backup Radar account with permission to configure PSA integrations.

  • The ConnectWise Manage site URL and company name.

Note: This article captures third-party steps and/or an interface that may have since been updated.

Create a dedicated security role

Create a dedicated security role for Backup Radar. A separate role lets you grant only the permissions required for the integration instead of assigning a full administrator role.

  1. In ConnectWise Manage, navigate to System > Security Roles.

  2. Create a new security role. For example, name it Backup Radar.

  3. Expand each section below and set the permissions as shown.
