Linking your Backup Radar and ScalePad devices

Linking your Backup Radar devices with your ScalePad account assets creates a unified asset record and ensures cross-product consistency for those who use multiple ScalePad products (or who might in the future).

Follow the steps below to get started.

Who can use this feature?
• Administrator users.
• Standard users (who have been granted access).
 
  1. In Backup Radar, navigate to Manage > Devices > ScalePad Account Asset Linking > Not Linked to view your Backup Radar devices that have not been linked to a ScalePad account asset. Devices are automatically grouped by Device Company based on your Backup Radar data (before syncing) and/or ScalePad data (after syncing).

  2. Click Edit next to a Backup Radar device and use the drop-down menu to search for and choose the ScalePad account asset, if any, that it makes sense to sync it with. The system may suggest assets for you when possible using smart matching technology.

    Note: If you can't find the asset you're looking for, this may be due to a syncing error. Contact our Support team for assistance.

  3. When you're ready to save your changes, click Save (or Save Changes if you've queued up multiple changes to save at once).

  4. Upon a successful linking, you'll see a confirmation message appear at the top right and you'll see the totals for Linked and Not Linked devices has changed. Once linked, your Backup Radar device is now part of a centralized asset record that can be accessed from all your ScalePad products.

  5. You can unlink a device at any time by navigating to the Linked page and clicking Unlink.
