If your Rubrik devices are appearing with (Empty) as the device name in Backup Radar, this article explains why this happens and how to fix it.

Who can use this feature?

Users with Admin access in Backup Radar who can also modify report configurations in the Rubrik console.

Problem

When you import a Rubrik report that includes a Location column, Backup Radar uses the Location value as the device name. If the Location value is (Empty), your devices appear with (Empty) as the name — even when the report contains a usable Object Name value.

Backup Radar doesn't automatically fall back to Object Name when the Location column is present but empty.

Steps to resolve

  1. In the Rubrik console, open the report you are importing into Backup Radar and remove the Location column. Refer to Rubrik's documentation for guidance on modifying report columns, as the exact steps may vary depending on your Rubrik version and configuration.
  2. Re-import the updated report into Backup Radar and verify that your devices now display the correct names. With the Location column removed, the parser uses the Object Name column as the device name.
