Backup Radar receives supported Cohesity backup reports by email.

This process is for a self-managed Cohesity cluster. It uses the Protection Summary by Object Type report in HTML format.

Who can use this feature?

• A Backup Radar user who can access the import mailbox and activate backups.

• A Cohesity user who can schedule reports and configure email recipients.

What you’ll need

• Access to the Cohesity reporting interface.

• The Backup Radar import email address for the account you want to monitor.

Follow these steps to send the report to Backup Radar and activate the resulting backups.

1. Copy your Backup Radar import address. In Backup Radar, go to Integration > Mailboxes and copy the import email address for the account you want to monitor.

2. Select the report. In your self-managed Cohesity cluster, select Protection Summary by Object Type and set the report format to HTML.

3. Schedule the report and add the recipient. In Cohesity, schedule the report to run daily and add the Backup Radar import address as the recipient. Set the email subject to exactly [Cohesity] Protected Object Report.

4. Check the incoming email in Backup Radar. After Cohesity sends the report, go to Integration > Mailboxes and check its status. Saved Result means Backup Radar processed the report. If the status is Unrecognized or Failed Parsing, save the original email as an .eml file and contact Backup Radar Support. Include your Cohesity product, deployment type, version, report name, and format.

5. Activate the backups. After the report is processed, go to Manage > Activate Backups and activate the backups for the appropriate client. For more details, see Activating your backups.
