Using a Custom SMTP to Send Reports or Email Notifications

Hello! In this article, we'll walk you through sending scheduled reports or email notifications from your own email address.

By default, your Backup Radar account will send scheduled reports or email notifications from noreply@backupradar.com.

Alternatively, Backup Radar gives you the flexibility to send scheduled reports or email notifications using your own email address. This is useful if you want to send scheduled reports or email notifications that come from your own email address and domain to your customers or to your team. 

Follow these steps to customize your account to send scheduled reports or email notifications using your own email address:

  1. Navigate to Settings > SMTP.

  2. Click the Configure New Email button.

  3. Fill in all the valid SMTP settings for your email host and email account as you would if you were setting up an Outlook IMAP connection, and click Save.

What's next:

When creating a scheduled report, you'll now see your email address as an option in the "From" drop-down menu.

Similarly, when creating an email notification, you'll now see your email address as an option in the "From" drop-down menu.
