Hello! Follow the steps below to create an integration between Axcient x360Recover and Backup Radar.

Who can use this feature?
• Administrator users.
• Standard users (who have been granted access).

Note: This article captures third-party steps and/or an interface that may have since been updated.

Step 1: Setting up your Axcient x360Recover Account

Setting up your Axcient x360Recover Account

If you have appliance-based backups, you'll need to integrate with the Management Portal (MP) (formerly Global Management Portal (GMP)) API (see Generating an API Key for the MP below).

If you have Direct2Cloud backups, you'll need to integrate with the Vault API (see Generating an API Key for the Vault below).

Note: The x360Recover Manager (formerly RMC) API is not ready for integration with Backup Radar at this time, but Axcient has confirmed that it's in the works.

Generating an API Key for the MP

  1. In your Axcient x360Recover Management Portal, click the Users tab.
Note: If you don't have access to a Management Portal in your Axcient account, feel free to reach out to our friends on the Axcient support team for assistance in enabling your Management Portal.
    Click the Users tab.png

  2. Click Add and fill in the required fields to create a new admin user. Name it anything you'd like (e.g. Backup Radar).
    Click Add.png

  3. Make a note of the API key that appears next to your new admin user.
    Copy API Key.png

  4. Under System Settings, scroll down and make a note of the Host name.
    Copy the Host Name.png

Generating an API Key for the Vault

  1. In your Axcient x360Recover account, click System Settings.
    Click System Settings.png

  2. Click + API Key to expand the section and make a note of the API Key.
    Copy Vault API Key.png

  3. Scroll down and make a note of the Host name.
    Copy the Host Name.png

Step 2: Setting up your Backup Radar Account

Setting up your Backup Radar Account

  1. In Backup Radar, click Integration > Backup Integrations.
    Integration > Backup Integrations.png

  2. Click the + button on the Axcient tile.
    Click the + Axcient Button.png

  3. Click Configure new source.
    Click Configure New Source.png

  4. Enter the following information and click Save:
    Create Axcient Source.png
    a. Naming Convention: Choose Basic Format Job Name if you would like Backup Radar to use the appliance information field as the job name. Choose IP Address Format Job Name if you would like Backup Radar to include the IP address (or vault name for replications) in the job name.
    b. Name: Name this backup anything you'd like (e.g. Axcient Backups).
    c. Server Address: Paste the Host name you noted in the previous steps.
    d. User Name: Enter your Axcient user name. If you have SSO-enabled, your user name might be simply "admin".
    e. Authentication Type: In most cases, select Api Key. However, if you have decided to use a password instead of an API key for this integration, choose Password (note that this is a less secure option).
    f. Api Key: In most cases, paste the API token you noted in the previous steps. However, if you chose Password for your Authentication Type, this field will instead be called "Password", and you'll need to enter the password for your existing Axcient portal user with access to backups, jobs, and screenshot lists.

Following a successful integration, you'll be returned to the Backup Integrations tab, where you will see your new integration source.

What's next?

Shortly, your backups should start populating in your Manage > Activate Backups screen and syncing hourly.

Note that Backup Radar will only pull in devices from Axcient which have recent backup results. For MP servers, we only download and store the state of the most recent backup. For vault servers, we download and store backup jobs (replication jobs are not supported) for the last hour.
