Once you've set up your integrations, your next step is to make sure your clients are assigned to their respective backups.
|
Who can use this feature? • Administrator users. • Standard users (who have been granted access). |

|
Before you begin: • Be sure that you've integrated your client list and your backup applications to your Backup Radar account. Check out our Integrations section for more details. |
1. Navigate to Manage > Companies > Backup Client List.
2. For each client, review the names under the Backup Client ID and Currently mapped to columns to confirm whether your client is already being mapped to your desired name.
You may want to click the Suggest Mapping button to view a visualization of Backup Radar's assessments for exact matches (white background), soft matches (yellow background), and no matches (red background).
Backup Radar will attempt to automatically map your backups based on the client information provided by your backup application. In the example above, the result is an exact match (indicated by a white background).
|
Note: If any of your email backup methods do not natively provide client data in its emails and thus your Backup Client ID column is blank, we recommend using plus addressing to add a Backup Client ID to your backups before you continue with mapping your clients to your backups. If you're still not able to add a Backup Client ID to your backup after setting up plus addressing, skip the rest of this article and set up a company rule instead. |
a. To accept the current client mapping:
• For an exact match (white background), no action is necessary to accept the current mapping.
• For a soft match (yellow background), click Verify. You'll only need to verify this once per client, unless you change the client mapping later.
b. To assign (or re-assign) your client mapping: Click the drop-down menu under the Maps to column, select the company name you'd like the client to be mapped to, click Map, and follow the prompts to confirm your change.
If you need to create a new company name to then assign your client to, navigate to the Company List tab and click Add Company to create a local company.
| Note: If you map your backup to a local company instead of a company that was imported from your API-integrated PSA, any tickets created will be associated with your Catch all Company. You can verify whether a company is local or PSA-integrated by navigating to Manage > Companies > Company List and checking the Type column. |
4. Once you've finished configuring and confirming your client mapping, toggle on Enable Client Mapping and click Apply Changes.
|
Note: When Enable Client Mapping is set to the on position, all changes on this page will be in effect and take precedence over company rules. When Enable Client Mapping is set to the off position, changes on this page will not take effect and company assignment will default to company rules, when applicable. |
|
What's next? Now that you've mapped your clients to their associated backups, your next step is to activate your backups. |
