Integrating with Redstor

Hi there! Follow the steps below to create an integration between Redstor and Backup Radar.

Who can use this feature?
• Administrator users.
• Standard users (who have been granted access).
 
What you'll need:
• Top-level user access to a Redstor account.
Note: This article captures third-party steps and/or an interface that may have since been updated.

  1. First, you'll want to create a service account. In your Redstor account, select the RedAPI icon.png RedAPI icon.

  2. In the left sidebar, click Service accounts.png Service accounts.

  3. At the top right corner, click Add service account.

  4. Configure the following account details and access:

    a. Account name: Name your account anything you'd like (for example, Backup Radar).
    b. Description: Add any description you'd like (for example, Exports data to Backup Radar).
    c. Partner: Select a partner from the drop-down menu and click Assign.
    d. Select specific customer: Select from the list of customers in this menu. By default, all customers will be selected.
    e. Auto-assign all future customers: If you want new customers to have RedAPI access by default, toggle this option on.

  5. When you're done, click Create key.

  6. Provide a descriptive name for your key. This can be anything you'd like (for example, Olivia's API Key). Click Next.

  7. Click Download to save a private and public key to your desired location. Only your private key will be needed later to complete your integration. Click Done.

  8. Click the Add account button.

  9. Back in the Service accounts page, click the Copy client ID button.png Copy client ID button and make a note of your client ID.

  10. In your Backup Radar account, navigate to Integration > Backup Integrations.

  11. Click the + Button.png Plus button on the Redstor tile.

  12. Configure the following fields and click Save:

    a. Profile Name: Name this anything you'd like (for example, "Redstor").
    b. Client Id: Paste the client ID you noted from your Redstor account.
    c. Drop .jwk file here or click to upload: Upload the private key you downloaded in your Redstor account.

Following a successful integration, you'll be returned to the Backup Integrations tab, where you can confirm your new integration source by looking for the Enabled checkmark icon.

Shortly, your backups will start populating in your Manage > Activate Backups screen and syncing hourly.
