After you integrate Axcient x360Recover with Backup Radar, use templates to apply activation and monitoring settings to the backups you receive. Create separate templates for cloud replication, Direct-to-Cloud (D2C), local backup, and screenshot jobs, and distinguish between servers and workstations.
This article applies to template-based activation and monitoring. It doesn’t apply to Backup Plans.
Who can use this feature?
Users with access to Manage > Templates.
What you’ll need:
An Axcient x360Recover API integration connected to Backup Radar.
Axcient backup jobs reporting into Backup Radar.
Access to manage templates.
Create the templates
Each template has two separate areas:
Rules determine which backups match the template.
Configuration determines the schedule, device type, and No Result Threshold applied to matching backups.
In Backup Radar, navigate to Manage > Templates.
Click Add Template.
Create the rules and configuration for the template using the instructions and tables below.
Repeat steps 2–3 for each of the 10 templates.
Configure the rules
In the Actions column, click Rules to define which backups apply to the template. Add these three rules to every template:
Rule | Rule type | Backup method | Key | Comparison | Value |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | Backup Metadata | Axcient RMC API |
| Equals | Use the value in the Rules table |
2 | Backup Metadata | Axcient RMC API |
| Equals | Use the value in the Rules table |
3 | Job Name | — | — | Equals | Use the value in the Rules table |
Set the rules to use AND logic so every rule must match. Use the Rules table to select the values for each template.

Map clients to their backups
Before you activate the templates, map your clients to their associated backups. Backup Radar requires a company assignment for template-based automatic activation.
For detailed instructions, see Mapping clients to their backups. After you finish mapping your clients, return to this article and continue with the activation steps.
Activate the templates and apply the changes
After you create the templates and map your clients, activate the templates and apply the configuration to existing backups.
In Backup Radar, navigate to Manage > Templates.
Toggle each of the 10 templates to Active.
Click Apply Changes.
Review the confirmation window, and confirm the changes.
Backup Radar applies the new template logic to existing backups that match the rules.
Confirm the configuration
Confirm that:
All 10 templates are Active.
Every template includes
d2c,type, and Job Name rules combined with AND logic.Server templates use Unit, and workstation templates use Workstation.
All templates use a Daily schedule.
D2C screenshot templates use a 14-day No Result Threshold for Unit devices and a 28-day threshold for Workstation devices. Axcient D2C screenshots occur every 7–14 days for Unit devices and every 14–28 days for Workstation devices, so these thresholds allow the full expected reporting window before Backup Radar marks a screenshot as No Result.
Existing backups reflect the intended device type and monitoring configuration.
If a backup matches an unexpected template, review the template rules for overlapping criteria. Disable conflicting legacy templates, then apply the changes again.
