Creating a dashboard

A dashboard in Backup Radar is a collection of "tiles" that display data from preconfigured sources. Think of the dashboard as your command center, designed to give you "at-a-glance" visibility into your most critical data.

There's no limit to how many dashboards you can create and customize in your Backup Radar account. Follow the steps below to get started!

Who can use this feature?
• Administrator users.
• Standard users (who have been granted access).

Before you begin:
• Make sure to activate your backups.

  1. In Backup Radar, navigate to Dashboard to find the Create your first dashboard page.
Dashboard > Create your first dashboard.png

Note: If you or someone else has already created at least one dashboard in your Backup Radar account, this page will look a little different: Navigate to Dashboard and click the Create Dashboard button at the top instead.
  2. You can either Create from scratch or Create from Default template (recommended).
Choose between create from scratch or create from template.png

To start with a default template, follow these steps:

    a. Select Create from Default template
    Choose template.png

    b. Name your dashboard anything you'd like, choose your Tile defaults, and click Create.

The Tile defaults you select will be applied to every pre-built tile in your dashboard, but you can change these settings for each tile as needed.
Name your dashboard > choose default settings > Create.png

To create your dashboard from scratch, follow these steps:

    a. Select Create from scratch.
    Choose create from scratch.png

    b. Name your dashboard and click Create.
    Name your dashboard > Create.png

    b. Click the Create Tile button to add your first tile.

Note that each tile can only contain either data from templates or standalone jobs, or data from your Backup Plans.

Note: This feature is rolling out gradually and may not be available in your account yet.

What's next?

Now that you've created your dashboard, you can share a view-only, live link to anyone inside or outside your company. Check out Sharing a dashboard for details.

By default, dashboards can be edited, viewed, and shared by anyone logged into your Backup Radar account. If you would like to restrict which logged in users can edit, view, and share a particular dashboard, check out Managing dashboard permissions.
