If you're setting up your Azure integration in Backup Radar but the expected resource group or vault isn't appearing in the selection picker, follow the steps below to troubleshoot the issue.
Who can use this feature?
Administrator users.
Standard users (who have been granted access).
Confirm your vault type is supported
This integration only supports monitoring backups stored in a Recovery Services Vault or a Data Protection Vault. Confirm that the VM or resource you're trying to monitor is protected by Azure Backup in one of these supported vault types.
If your backup is stored in an unsupported vault type, your best bet is to integrate by redirecting your email reports to Backup Radar.
Confirm the correct subscription is selected
During integration setup, confirm that you've selected the subscription that contains the resource group and vault you're looking for. If your client has multiple subscriptions, the vault may exist under a different one than the one currently selected.
For more details on selecting a subscription during setup, see Integrating with Microsoft Azure API.
Confirm BackupRadar.com has Reader access
In Microsoft Azure, confirm that the BackupRadar.com app (or service principal) still has Reader access assigned at the subscription level. If this role assignment has been removed or modified, the integration won't be able to discover your vaults and resource groups.
Confirm the resource group or vault hasn't changed
Confirm that the resource group or vault hasn't been recently renamed, moved to a different subscription, or deleted in Azure. Changes like these can prevent the integration from detecting the expected resources.
Resave the integration
After confirming the above, reopen the Azure integration in Backup Radar, re-select the vault or resource group (if it now appears), and click Save. This refreshes the connection and can resolve visibility issues caused by stale data.
If the issue persists
If your resource group or vault still doesn't appear after completing the steps above, submit a support ticket and include the following details:
A screenshot showing the resource group and associated vault in Azure.
A screenshot of the backup job or protection status for the affected VM or resource.
Confirmation of whether the resource group, vault, or subscription was recently changed, moved, or renamed.
This information helps our support team investigate the issue and get you up and running quickly.
