Hello, and welcome to your tour of the Audit page in Backup Radar!
The Audit page is your single pane of glass for working with all your active backup results, and includes a variety of filters and functionalities you can utilize to manage, filter, and view your backup results.
Navigate to the Audit page and follow the steps in the sections below to explore all the options available to you.
Working in the Top Menu
- Above the header columns, choose from the following configuration options:
a. Filters Set: Save or select a default or custom filter. For more details on the saved filters function, see Save a Filter View on the Audit Page.
b. Date: Select a date from this menu to narrow your page results down to one specific date.
c. Search backups..: Search by any keyword(s) to do a broad search across all of the header column data.
d. History Days: The number of squares that appear under the History column will correspond with whatever has been chosen in the History Days drop-down menu.
Working in the Audit Filters Sidebar
- Click the Open Filters button to open the Audit Filters sidebar (if it's not already expanded).
- In the Audit Filters sidebar, choose from the following configuration options to manage and filter your backup results:
a. No Success In: Filter your backup results by the number of days since a successful backup was completed by entering that number in this field.
Note: Because historical data is available for 10 years in Backup Radar, the maximum number that you can enter in this field is 3,650 days (10 years).
b. Company: Filter your backup results by one or more companies from your company list (i.e. the list of companies that have been added to your Backup Radar account either manually or through a PSA integration).
Note: You can alternatively sort or filter by one singular company name by using the Company Name header column within the main section of this page. For more details, see Working in the Header Columns.
c. Templates: Filter by backup results currently linked to your template(s). Alternatively, you can choose one of the following template filter options:
• [None]: Backups that have never been linked to a template.
• [Standalone]: Backups that were previously linked to a template, but have since been modified to be standalone backups.d. Backup Method: Filter your backup results by the methods associated with your backup jobs that are actively being monitored.
Note: Backup methods that appear in this menu may not reflect the current name of the backup method.
Note: You can alternatively sort or filter by one singular backup method by using the Backup Method header column within the main section of this page. For more details, see Working in the Header Columns.
e. Device Type: Filter your backup results by the one or more device types (including your custom device types) that were assigned to your backups upon activation.

Success
Warning
g. Tags: Filter your backup results by your tag(s).
h. Alert on Failure: Filter your backup results by one of the following Alert on Failure types: Ticket, Email, Any, or None.
i. Backup Type: Filter your backup results by either Alert or Backup backup type. For more details on backup types, see Backup Type.
j. Exclude Backup Method: Select one or more of the backup methods associated with your backup jobs that are actively being monitored, to exclude them from your results.
k. Exclude Tags: Exclude one or more tags from your results.
l. Group By Company: Group your results by company name. This is helpful if you would like to view all backup results for a particular company, and/or select multiple or all backup results to make a bulk edit to them.
m. Scheduled Only: Filter your results by only backup jobs scheduled for the specific date selected in the Date field above the header columns.
- Click the Apply Filters button to execute your selections, or the Clear Filters button to clear your selections and start over again.
- Note that when you've successfully filtered your backup results by at least one Audit Filter, a red circle will appear that displays the number of Audit Filters you are currently utilizing.
Working in the Header Columns
- Along the header columns, choose from the following configuration options to manage and sort within backup results.
Note: Wildcard characters will have no effect on your results in any field on the Audit page.
a. Manage columns: Click this button to adjust the following view options for your columns:
i. Enter Fullscreen: Click this button to switch to full screen mode.
ii. Reset to Defaults: Click this button to reset your visible columns to the default selection.
iii. Reset widths: Click this button to reset your columns to their default widths.
iv. Adjust Columns: Use these checkboxes to select/de-select visibility for any or all columns.
b. Backup results: Click this button to view the backup result(s) that were received on the specific date currently selected in the Date field above the header columns.
Your backup results will appear in a separate window as follows:
i. Result Date & Time: This date and time zone will be according to the time zone associated with the backup application for this backup result.
ii. Received Date & Time: This date and time zone will be according to the time zone associated with your Backup Radar account (which is synced with your browser's time zone).
iii. Status: The symbol that appears highlighted in colour identifies one of the following statuses for your result: Success, Warning, Failed, and Manually Added Result.
iv. Selected Data Size: This number represents the size of the backup result.
v. Data Transferred: This number represents the size of whatever portion of the backup was successfully processed. If this number matches the Selected Data Size, your backup was fully transferred.
vi. Magnifying Glass icon: Click this button to view the backup result received by Backup Radar.
vii. Pencil icon: Click this button to edit the backup result.
viii. Trash icon: Click this button to delete this backup result. This may come in handy for removing an inaccurate result.
c. Selection checkboxes: Click one or more checkboxes to select the backup result(s) you would like to manage.
To select all backup results, click the top checkbox. To select multiple sequential backup results: Select the first backup result, hold down the Shift key, and select multiple additional backup results that are adjacent to each other.
When at least one backup result is selected, the following options will appear at the bottom of your screen:
i. Edit:
• When one backup result is selected, click this button to view and edit the device information, configuration, and advanced settings for your selected backup result. Note that you can also view and edit this information by clicking the Edit button under the Actions column.
• When multiple backup rseults are selected, click this button to bulk edit the device information, configuration, and advanced settings for all selected backup results. Note that all fields will appear blank; modify any blank field to make a change to all selected backup results.
ii. Delete: Click this button to delete your selected backup result(s). Note that you can also delete backup results by clicking the Delete button under the Actions column on this page.
iii. Create Ticket: Click this button to instantly create a ticket for your selected backup result(s), based on the backup result status for the currently-selected date and following your ticketing rule logic.
iv. Add Result: Click this button to manually add a result to your selected backup result(s). Note that you can also edit this information by clicking the Add Result button under the Actions column. This can be helpful for a few different scenarios, such as when a backup has failed due to a known issue that's being addressed and you'd like to avoid receiving No Result notifications in the meantime. In this scenario, by manually adding a Success result, you're telling Backup Radar to behave as if the most recent backup was a success.
v. Retire: Click this button to retire your selected backup result(s). Note that you can also edit this information by clicking the Retire button under the Actions column on this page. For more details on retiring backups, see Retiring your Backups.
vi. Merge: Sometimes, a new backup result can be created for a job that was already being monitored. Merging is a great option when you want to combine two or more duplicated backup results without losing any historical data. For more details on merging backups, see Merging your Backups.
Note: Merging is permanent and cannot be reversed, so ensure you use this function cautiously.
vii. Export: Click this button to export your selected backup result(s) into .csv format.
viii. Verify | Compliance: Click this button to verify your selected backup result(s). For more details on the verification function, see Action Items on the Audit Screen - Verify.
When you've verified your selected backup result(s), you'll notice a checkmark symbol under the Verified header column within the main section of this page.
ix. Remediate | Compliance: Click this button to remediate your selected backup result(s). For more details on the remediation function, see Action Items on the Audit Screen - Remediate.
x. Restore | Compliance: Click this button to restore your selected backup result(s). For more details on the restoration function, see Action Items on the Audit Screen - Verify.
d. Company Name: View, search, and sort your backup results by a specific company name.
Note: You can alternatively filter by multiple company names by using the Company Name Audit Filter sidebar. For more details, see Working in the Audit Filters Sidebar.
e. Device Name: View, search, and sort your backup results by a specific device name.
f. Job Name: View, search, and sort your backup results by a specific job name.
g. Client ID: View, search, and sort your backup results by the client IDs associated with them. For more information on how backup client IDs work, see Adding a Backup Client ID to Email Notifications.
Note: If this column does not appear on your Audit page, you can manually enable it by clicking the Manage columns button.
h. Backup Method: View, search, and sort your backup results by backup method.
Note: Backup methods that appear in this menu may not reflect the current name of the backup method.
i. Status: View and sort your backup results by the following status type(s):
Failure
No Result
Pending
Success
Warning
j. Date/Time (Local): Select a desired start and end date to filter and sort by the local date and time on which Backup Radar received the result. Note that the "local" time is automatically detected by your browser. Click the arrows button to sort your backup results by date/time.
- Continuing along the header columns, choose from the following configuration options to manage and sort within your current filtered list of backup results:
a. Day(s): View and sort your backup results by how many days/hours/minutes it's been since the last successful backup.
Note: If this column does not appear on your Audit page, you can manually enable it by clicking the Manage columns button.
Note: This data is counting backwards from the specific date currently selected in the Date field above the header columns.
b. Last Success: View and sort your backup results by their last success. This data displays the last successful result that Backup Radar received while ignoring all selected date/time filters that may currently be enabled.
c. History: View a summary of your backup's history.
• The colors of the squares represent the following:
• Click on a square to view the date it represents and the backup status(es). Double-click on a square to view the backup result(s) details.
d. Ticket(s): View and sort your backup results by the number of tickets associated with them.
i. Tickets button: Click the Tickets button to view the open and closed tickets associated with the backup result.
ii. Cog button: Click the cog button to view the ticket rule(s) associated with the backup result.
e. Template: View templates that have been assigned to your backup results.
f. Verified: When you've verified your selected backup result(s), you'll notice a checkmark symbol under the Verified header column.

g. Current Result: View the most recent result received for your backup, regardless of the date in the Date field.
h. Tags: View tags that have been added to your backup results.
i. Threshold: View and sort the No Result Threshold number of days for your backup results. For more details on this setting, see Understanding the "No Result Threshold" setting.
j. Alert on Failure: View and sort your backup results by whether or not they're currently using Alert on Failure. For more details on this setting, see Alert on Failure.
k. Note: View and sort notes that have been added to your backup results.
l. Actions: Edit, retire, add, or delete a result to/from your backup results.

Per page: Use this drop-down menu to configure the number of backup results you'd like to be displayed per page, up to a maximum of 500.
